About Me

Spreading the word...From radio to podcasts to print

I talked my way into radio as a fresher at the University of Bristol. The adrenaline rush of presenting live travel bulletins on Breakfast shows across Wales and the West made the early alarm worthwhile.

After graduating with a degree in German and Russian, I was chosen from 700 candidates for a life-changing traineeship with the British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS). I had a 3-year adventure working overseas as a radio presenter and producer in Germany, Cyprus, Gibraltar, Northern Ireland, Kosovo and the Falklands.

I returned to the UK to join the BBC as a Broadcast Journalist at BBC Radio Wiltshire and have since worked as a presenter, producer and reporter across BBC Local Radio and at Radio 2, Radio 4 and 5Live.

The proudest achievement of my career is producing Jeremy Vine’s award-winning Radio 2 documentary series The Songs My Son Loved. It featured moving interviews with the mothers of five fallen soldiers and succeeded in making critics and lorry drivers cry.

During the Covid-19 pandemic I hosted two series of the BFBS podcast Team Talk. We shared the experiences and stories of military families, service personnel and veterans.

I regularly write features for magazines and websites including Army&You and The Motherload. I have wide-ranging experience in PR including writing press releases and blogs, securing coverage for clients, media training and social media management.

I am always open to new opportunities so if you have a project in mind or you would like to work with me, do get in touch.
